What we race...
The Colchester Model Car Club race on-road 1:10 RC models every Sunday and 1:12 on road circuit cars on the last Sunday of each month. Race Dates We also offer run-what-you-bring race nights on Wednesday evenings for 1:12 & 1:10 on-road models & 1:10 & 1:8 scale off-road models during the summer months. Please find a brief outline of race rules below. A full list of rules and procedures can be found here on the CMCC forum.

If you are new to Radio Control model car racing, please join the CMCC forum and ask any questions or check out the B.R.C.A website (British Governing Body) for a useful introduction to the world of RC Car racing.

1:10 Scale nitro touring cars


C.M.C.C. welcome all 1:10 nitro touring car RC racers to race on Sundays, but will be running all championship points meetings to the B.R.C.A. 1:10 scale rubber rules.
    Main Rules
  • Rubber tyres only
  • .12 size engines
  • 16% nitro fuel
  • GT / touring style bodyshells max 200mm wide
  • Failsafe installed
  • Minimum weight 1750g

1:10 Scale Electric Touring Cars


C.M.C.C. welcome all 1:10 electric touring car RC racers to race on Sundays and will be running an "open" 1:10 electric touring car class this year with the following rules:
    Main Rules
  • Rubber tyres only
  • 540 size brushed or brushless motors
  • 5 or 6 cell NiMh cells max 7.2V or hardcase LiPo 8.4V
  • Touring car style bodyshells max 190mm wide
  • 5 cell minimum weight 1425g
  • 6 cell minimum weight 1500g

1:12 Scale Circuit Cars


C.M.C.C. welcome all 1:12 electric circuit car RC racers to race on the last Sunday of each month and will be running an "open" 1:12 electric circuit car class this year with the following rules:
    Main Rules
  • Foam tyres only
  • No motor limit, 540 size brushed or brushless motors
  • 4 cell NiMh 4.8V
  • Circuit car style bodyshells
  • Minimum weight 1425g
