Welcome to the Colchester Model Car Club website. We are a radio controlled model car racing club based in Easthorpe, just outside Colchester in Essex. We race 1:10 scale I.C. & electric on-road cars every Sunday all year round. We also offer "run-what-u-bring" race nights for 1:12, 1:10 & 1:8 scale off-road & on-road models during the summer months. Race Dates

Latest News...
17/11/08 - IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: The Numb Nuts venues have been altered - please check the ammended list and make a note in your diary! The rounds originally arranged for the Coastal Model Car Club have now been swapped over to the CMCC & SPMCC venues.
This now means that the nitro racers can compete at all events and both electric and nitro will be 6 rounds with the 4 best scores to count towards the championship.

16/11/08 - Round 1 of the Numb Nuts winter series took place at the Snetterton Park Model Car Club this weekend. A good number of nitro racers braved the winter conditions and they were accompanied by 2 electric touring cars.

The nitro A final came down to the wire, with Colchester's Peter Lague snatching victory in the last minute from Paul Bellinger. 4th place qualifier Aston Gilson raced well and took 3rd place just one lap down on second. The nitro B final was won by Matt Mann, one lap up on Toby Manser in second with Russ Dowsing rounding out the top 3. The electric A final was won by C.M.C.C. member Franck Dambrine who finished less than a second ahead of Coastal's Trevor Bailey. Final results can be found on the calendar page. The overall championship points standings will be available after round 2.

2/11/08 - Round 1 of the Colchester Model Car club winter series took place this weekend. The mixed weather conditions may have kept some racers away, but those that turned up enjoyed a competitive first round of the championship. Results can be found on the calendar page. and the overall points standings are viewable here.

18/10/08 - The dates for the Colchester Model Car club winter series have been announced and uploaded to the calendar page. This year we have 10 rounds of points meetings with your best 8 rounds to count towards the championship.

The Numb Nuts series IS BACK!! Anyone wanting a competitive winter race series cattering for nitro and electric 1:10 on-road models need look no further! ALL RACERS ARE WELCOME

  • 14/12/08. Rnd 2 @ Colchester
  • 18/01/09. Rnd 3 @ Snetterton
  • 22/02/09. Rnd 4 @ Colchester
  • 22/03/09. Rnd 5 @ Snetterton
  • 12/04/09. Rnd 6 @ Colchester

The rules are similar to last year with the nitro class running 1/10th rubber rules with 4 rounds to count from 6. Race format will be 4 rounds of 5min quali followed by 1 x 15 min final.

The electric class will be an 'open' championship with 5cell mod @ 1425gms or 6cell/Lipo any motor @1500gms. The electric format will be 4 rounds to count from 6 running 4 rounds of 5min quali followed by 1 x 5min final.

There will be the individual championship but alongside it will be a club trophy with the top 3 finishers from each club scoring in both classes. All rounds will count towards the club points. The entry fee will be the same at all clubs £5 per head and 50p from every entry will go towards the series trophies.
